When travelling anywhere abroad, it's crucial to get your travel insurance fully sorted before you go. For those with pre existing medical conditions, there are slightly different rules surrounding what you may be covered for and what you may not, all dependent on the specific insurance policy you choose. To ensure that all of our customers are aware of what will be covered, we've put together this short guide on our policies in relation to having a pre existing condition.
Our Bronze, Silver, Gold & Platinum packages offer varying levels of cover in regards to the medical cover which you can receive. For a single trip, the policies are as follows.
For those who have an existing medical condition before purchasing or renewing their travel insurance with Debenhams, you will not be covered for any claim or illness relating to your condition should it develop whilst away. This is important to bear in mind for people who have a current condition which they are aware of.
Silver, Gold & Platinum
Our Silver, Gold and Platinum policies can cover you and your medical conditions. When you purchase your policy, you'll need to let us know about your conditions so that we can screen them. Once you've declared your conditions to us, and once we've accepted this, you will be eligible for cover, meaning that you can enjoy your time away worry free.
Please note that for all of the Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum packages, you will also not be covered within the policy if you are waiting for hospital treatment or diagnosis before going away on your trip. This is also the case if you choose to travel against medical advice, you're travelling to receive treatment abroad, or you've been given a terminal prognosis.
